Connect your systems

How to connect my product with my APIs?

In short: Connect an MCP-compatible server through the MCP server integration in your Unless dashboard. You provide the endpoint and credentials, and your server determines what the agent can do.

Your APIs can become available to your Unless AI agent through a server that implements the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard for connecting AI agents to external tools and data. The connection runs through Living Context, allowing the agent to call the endpoints you expose as part of a conversation. You control the scope of that access, so begin by deciding which actions your server should make available.

How the integration works

Your MCP server connects to Living Context, which lets your agent call exposed endpoints during conversations. Because you build and configure the server, you set the boundaries for those calls.

For each endpoint, you decide whether the agent can use it automatically, whether a person must approve its use, or whether it is unavailable. Calls are logged, giving you a record of activity under the permission model described for the integration.

Connect your MCP server

Set up the integration from the Integrations tab in your Unless dashboard. Have your server endpoint and credentials ready to enter in the configuration popup.

  1. Open the Integrations tab in your Unless dashboard.
  2. Select Configure for the MCP server integration.
  3. In the popup, enter your MCP server endpoint and credentials.
  4. Set up the integration.

After connecting, the agent can use the endpoints you have exposed, subject to the permission rules built into your server.

Conclusion

Connecting your MCP server gives your agent access to the APIs and systems you choose to expose. Your server’s endpoint permissions define how that access works.
